The College of Psychiatrists of Ireland is delighted to announce its annual essay competition which is now open to submission from current Medical Students as well as those in their Intern Year.
The essay competition is an initiative of the Trainee Committee of the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland, which has been running annually since 2010 with great success. The Trainee Committee are actively involved with promoting Psychiatry as a specialty and engaging with Medical Students and Interns at a number of events throughout the year.

Title: Optimising Mental Health in a Virtual World – Connecting from a Distance
Word Limit: 1,000 words
Deadline for entries: 5PM Monday, 18 January 2021
First Prize: €200, a commemorative medal and free entry to the CPsychI NCHD and Spring Conferences
Runners Up Prize: Free entry to the NCHD Conference and the Spring Conference.
Essays should be sent for the attention of Ms Vivienne Keeley in the Postgraduate Training Department at vkeeley@irishpsychiatry.ie by the above stated deadline.
The shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend the online NCHD Conference (details forthcoming), where the winner will be announced.
