Members of the public can engage informally with psychiatrists this Green Ribbon month through the CPsychI 3rd annual Twitter Q&A session on Wednesday evening, 31st May at 7pm. For 2 hours (between 7pm and 9pm) Consultant Psychiatrists Dr Miriam Kennedy and Dr Jennifer Hoblyn will take charge of the @GreenRibbonIRL Twitter account to engage with people about mental health recovery and their questions about psychiatry. Both doctors are Consultant Psychiatrists (General Adult and Later Life) so will be taking questions on mental health in later life / old age mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and dementia.
To get involved, simply tweet your questions including the hashtag #AskPsych.
Dr Miriam Kennedy spoke to George Mulcahy on NearFM’s Lifeline show on Monday 29th May about the event and discussed mental health issues for people in later life. See below to listen back:
This event will be hosted in partnership with See Change, the National Stigma Reduction Partnership, as part of Green Ribbon month and is an important step in challenging the stigma associated with mental illness and psychiatry.
