VIRTUAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Engaging Patients Remotely
Online interactive workshop
We have all had to get to grips with changing how we work over the past number of months, in particular, how we interact with our patients. The CPsychI is delighted to introduce an interactive learning opportunity focusing on remote assessment and consultation in psychiatry.
Delivered online, with maximum 8 participants and limited to psychiatrists, this workshop also responds to the Medical Council’s increasing emphasis on communications in maintaining your professional competence.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify practical ways to be as effective as possible when communicating remotely.
- Explore techniques to build rapport and provide support to patients via phone and video call.
- Consider individual situations in psychiatry and how what you have learned will increase the effectiveness of therapeutic interaction with your patients.
Jo Irwin is an independent communications expert with over 20 years’ experience of working with groups within the health service and medical training bodies to deliver training and communications development sessions. She’ll work really hard (and make you work really hard!) to ensure this short session is interactive, fun and results driven.
