Speaker details:
Dr Hasanen Al-Taiar MBChB MRCPsych is a consultant forensic psychiatrist employed by Oxford Health NHS Foundation (OHFT) Trust since 2016 and works in the Oxford Clinic Medium Secure Unit, at Littlemore Mental Health Centre in Oxford. He works as an academic tutor at Oxford University Department of Psychiatry and is an Associate Oxford University Medical Education Fellow. He is involved in the Royal College of Psychiatrists Trainee Support, and Trans-cultural psychiatry groups and is mentoring lead at the South Eastern division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Dr Maria Frampton is a consultant in Liaison Psychiatry at the National Rehabilitation Hospital, Dun Laoghaire and in Later Life Psychiatry at St Vincent’s University Hospital. She trained in psychiatry in Dublin and London, before being appointed Lead Clinician and Consultant Psychiatrist in Northeast London Mental Health Trust and Honorary Senior Lecturer in UCL. She is a lecturer in RCSI, The Mental Health Commission and UCD with special interests in mental health legislation, leadership in healthcare and medical education.
Dr Mutahir Gulzar graduated in medicine in Punjab, Pakistan. He moved to Ireland in 1997. He completed his basic and specialist training in Psychiatry in Ireland. He is currently working as consultant in general adult psychiatry in Cavan. His special interests include metabolic abnormalities in patients with major mental illness and treatment resistant depression.
Dr Zarina Mokhtar is a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist. She is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and has been working in St Vincent Hospital Fairview’s Adolescent Services (offering inpatient & day hospital services), since 2014.
Dr Aileen Murtagh has a special interest in gender variance and dysphoria in youth. She has worked with gender variant youth in outpatient and inpatient settings. She has consulted with the HSE on service development. She is the national lead for GIST (Gender Identity Skills Training) for Irish clinicians. She has contributed to national radio, newspapers and TV on this topic.
Ms Caroline O’Reilly is a Psychotherapist and Addiction Counsellor with Exchange House Ireland and holds a BA in Applied Addiction Studies from Athlone IT. She is a fully accredited member of the Addiction Counsellors of Ireland (ACI), holds a BA Counselling & Psychotherapy from IICP, and is pre-accredited with the Irish Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (IACP). Since 2007 Caroline has been working in the field of addiction therapy and she is a pre-accredited therapist with IACP. Caroline works with members of the Traveller Community with addictions experiencing adult and childhood trauma, domestic violence, relationship difficulties, codependency, grief/ loss, work related stress, adult and childhood bullying, low self esteem, suicidal ideation, depression and anxiety.
